Pats take their back-to-back wins on the road to take on the Blades

Head-to-Head
This is the second meeting between the Pats and Blades in 2012-13.  The Blades opened the season series with a 3-2 victory at the Brandt Centre in a contest that saw the Pats put on a strong push late in the game, but fall just short.  Lane Scheidl had two goals for the home-side Pats while Josh Nicholls tallied twice for the visitors.  Matt Hewitt stopped 32 shots in the game while Andrey Makarov turned away 12 in the final period to preserve the Blades’ lead.  The Pats head to Saskatoon after back-to-back three goal victories over Prince Albert and Seattle.  The Blades come into tonight’s game with points in their last three.  Tonight’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Hewitt Big in Pats Victory over Seattle
Matt Hewitt made 43 saves en route to his 50th career win in the Pats 5-2 win against the Thunderbirds.  Hewitt’s great play gave the Pats scorers time to get on the board and eventually seal the win.  Luke Fenske scored the eventual game winner after the Pats killed off an extended 5-on-3 chance for Seattle.  Both Morgan Klimchuk and Lane Scheidl had three points on the night.

Scoring in Bunches
Morgan Klimchuk is red hot right now with three multi-point games in his last five.  He has eight points (3G, 5A) in those five contests.

Extra Contributions
The Pats are getting points from more than their big guns right now.  Jack Rodewald and Luke Fenske have points in their previous two games while Adam Brooks had two points in his last three.

Offence Waking Up
After struggling to produce offence earlier this season, the Pats are picking up the pace in recent weeks.  The Blue and White have scored four or more goals three times in their last five games, including nine in their back-to-back wins.

Quick Hits
- Kyle Burroughs has five assists in 19 games, one off last year’s total of six in 55 games
- Matt Hewitt is fifth in the WHL with a save percentage of .920
- The Pats have yet to participate in a game decided by two goals
