Regina, Saskatchewan – Regina Pats players and management will be downtown Wednesday morning hawking newspapers for Raise-a-Reader Day.
Between 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., the Pats will be on the corner of 11th Avenue and Hamilton Street distributing special Raise-a-Reader editions of the Leader-Post as well as collecting donations.
All proceeds of tomorrow’s event go towards supporting family literacy in Regina and Southern Saskatchewan. Last year’s national campaign raised 1.74 million dollars.
The Postmedia Raise-a-Reader campaign exists to empower today’s children and families with tools to improve their reading skills. These skills are the foundation for lifelong learning that significantly affects the quality of life and the health and social economic well-being of individuals, families and communities.
The Habitat for Humanity Pats Home Opener presented by Mosaic is Saturday, September 22nd. Tickets to the game can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 543-7800. For group sales information, visit ReginaPats.com
