Pats Hit the Road for First Multi-Day Trip

Pats look for first win in Swift Current
Head-to-Head
The Pats struggled off the off the hop in the WHL’s Opening Weekend dropping their first two games of the season to Brandon by 3-2 and 7-4 scores. The Broncos, meanwhile, grabbed three out of four points against the Warriors including a 7-1 drubbing of Moose Jaw. The Broncos and Pats play eight games against each other this season opposed to the six last year where Regina went 5-1-0-0 against Swift Current
Lead Up: Pats
After an up and down pre-season, the Pats looked strong in their Regular Season debut despite a 3-2 loss on the road in Brandon. In their Home Opener, however, the Pats fell back to old ways, falling 7-4 to the Wheaties in a fashion that prompted Coach Pat Conacher to call out his team after the game and single out his top scoring line.
Triumphant Return?
Less than a week after being traded to the Pats by the Broncos, Adam Rossignol makes his return to Swift Current. Playing on the Pats second line, Rossignol has one assist to his name in two games as a Pat.
Do The D-Shuffle
GM Chad Lang continues to tinker with this defence, trading overage defenceman Brandon Underwood to the Red Deer Rebels in return for a 4th Round Bantam Pick in 2013. The move also brings the number of 20 year olds on the Pats roster down to four.
Picking Up Where He Left Off
Dyson Stevenson was brilliant in the playoffs for the Pats, picking up three goals and two assists in four games. Stevenson hasn’t missed a beat, already scoring in each of the Pats first two games.
Quick Hits
- Brandon Underwood’s departure opens the door for the possibility of Griffin Mumby (’96) making his WHL debut
- Adam Brooks scored his first WHL goal Saturday vs. Brandon while Ty McLean picked up his first assist on the goal
- The Pats powerplay is off to a blistering 30.8% success rate, but they still rank 7th in the league on the PP
