Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of General Manager Chad Lang to a one-year contract extension through the 2013-14 Western Hockey League season.
“We feel that under Chad’s direction we have made strong strides in all aspects of our hockey department and the extension speaks volumes about the work he has done,” comments Pats President Brent Parker.
In his second year with the Pats, Lang restructured the team’s coaching staff by hiring Head Coach Pat Conacher along with assistants Malcolm Cameron, Josh Dixon and goaltending coach Rob Muntain ahead of the 2011-12 season. The scouting department has also seen change with the hiring of Dale McMullin as Head Scout in the same off-season.
The Pats roster went through a major evolution in the past two seasons with Lang acquiring players such as Colton Jobke, Lane Scheidl and Martin Marincin.
The 2011-12 squad went on to post a 37-27-6-2 record and gained a berth in the playoffs.
“I would like to thank Russ and Diane Parker, and especially Brent for all his support and the confidence he has shown in me over the past two years,” says Lang, "it has been a privilege to have the opportunity to lead this organization and would like to thank all the staff I have worked with these past two years. I am excited and look forward to having the opportunity to continue to build a program we all can be proud of."
Lang and his staff are busy preparing for Pats Training Camp which begins August 30th.
