Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is proud to be a part of the Canadian Cancer Society’s “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” For a seventh consecutive year, the Pats culminate a month of activities and fundraising with “Breast Cancer Awareness Night” presented by Jays Moving, Friday, November 2nd against the Calgary Hitmen.
For the second year in a row, the Pats have partnered with Imagination Ink to skate on “Pink Ice” against the Hitmen, as the Brandt Centre rink crew will colour the ice pink for the game.
The ice won’t be the only thing coloured pink, as Pats players will wear special edition Pink Jerseys as they go head to head with Calgary. The jersey auction will take place at the Brandt Centre through silent auction on the concourse. Fans hoping to win one of the jerseys must be in the venue that night.
Fans can show their support by purchasing special edition Pink Pats Toques. The toques are available at the Neutral Zone, online at shop.reginapats.com and the Pats Office for $20 plus tax. All proceeds from the toques and jersey auction go to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research in Saskatchewan.
Fans at the November 2nd “Breast Cancer Awareness Night” help out by just buying a ticket. One dollar from every walk-up ticket goes to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.
“The Regina Pats are honoured to join with the Canadian Cancer Society and game sponsor Jays Moving and Storage on our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night,” says Regina Pats V.P. of Operations Cliff Mapes. “This is one of our most important nights of the year and fans have responded with over eighty-thousand dollars raised for Breast Cancer research in Saskatchewan over the past six years. With the second year of Pink Ice, the Pink Toques and jersey auction, we believe we can achieve our goal of raising over twenty-thousand dollars November 2nd.”
