Pats 1 - Broncos 2
Much like the night before against Red Deer; the Pats came out with a solid first period, but found themselves down by one after the opening frame. Coming out of the corner, Graham Black snapped the puck on goal and Teagan Sacher put the puck out into the slot and on to the stick of Chance Lund. The big forward put the puck in off the post to give the Broncos the lead heading into the intermission.
The middle frame saw both teams earn two powerplay chances, but nobody could cash in with the man advantage. That said, the Broncos were able to extend their lead to 2-0 courtesy of Ryon Moser’s fourth goal of the season as he extended his point streak to seven games. It didn’t take long for the hottest Pat to get it back as Trent Ouellette potted his fourth of the season and moved his point total to nine on the year. Dyson Stevenson factored in big on the goal as his solo effort down low opened up the pass in front to Ouellette.
The Pats did everything in they could in the third period to find a way past Eetu Laurikainen, but the comeback wasn’t going to happen for a second time in Swift Current. At the other end of the ice, Teagan Sacher was only forced to make three saves in the third, but one was a shorthanded breakaway for Chance Lund. The Pats outshot the Broncos 12-3 in the final frame, but couldn’t muster a tying goal and fell 2-1 on the road.
1. Eetu Laurikainen – 25 Saves
2. Dyson Stevenson – 1A
3. Ryon Moser – 1G
