The Pats and Raiders have dealt blows back and forth through the four matchups of their season series. So far the teams have split the meetings with the Pats winning two contests on home ice and the Raiders winning once at home and once on the road. In the teams’ last game, Matt Hewitt made 23 saves in a 3-0 Pats victory. Morgan Klimchuk has yet to score in the season series, but has five assists to lead the Pats in points against P.A. On the other side, Mike Winther and Anthony Bardaro have done the most damage against Regina with five points each in four games. Coming into their fifth meeting, the Pats have wins in four of their last five and three in a row. The Raiders dropped their game against Saskatoon last night by a 6-3 count. Tonight’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m.
Lead Up: Hewitt Comes up Big in Shootout Win
Sixty-five minutes wasn’t enough to find a winner between the Pats and Tigers Friday night. Jack Rodewald and Trent Ouellette scored for the Pats in regulation while Jacob Doty and Elgin Pearce replied for Medicine Hat. Matt Hewitt stopped 24 shots in the game, then all three Tiger shooters in the shootout and Morgan Klimchuk beat Cam Lanigan to give the Pats a 3-2 win.
Starting the Second Half Right
With their win over Medicine Hat, the Pats have victories in three straight games for the first time this season. In the second half of the season, the Pats are 4-1-0-0.
Hitting His Stride
Jack Rodewald continues to improve his play through the season. The Winnipeg, MB product has five points in his last eight games and is a plus two in the plus/minus category. Rodewald has five goals and four assists on the season.
Who to Watch on Prince Albert
Dakota Conroy is in the midst of a career year in the WHL. After totaling 18 points in his first 70 WHL contests, the ’94 born forward has 37 points in 36 games with Prince Albert. Conroy is also on a six game point streak with nine points over that span.
