Pats with points in every game this week

The Week That Was
Tuesday, October 9th – Pats 3 Portland 2 OT
Matt Hewitt was stunning in the first period of Tuesday’s game against Portland.  The 20-year old netminder made 14 saves on 15 shots in the first period to keep the Pats in the contest.  Goals by Adam Rossignol and Trent Ouellette set the stage for Lane Scheidl to win it in overtime wrapping up a 3-2 Pats win.

Friday, October 12th – Swift Current 3 Pats 2 OT
The Pats put together a solid effort against Swift Current Friday, but couldn’t hold the Bronco powerplay off the board.  Swift Current went 3/6 with the man advantage, scoring all of their goals on the powerplay with the final marker coming in overtime.  Chandler Stephenson scored twice for Regina in the loss.

Saturday, October 13th – Pats 4 Everett 3
Entering the third period down 3-2 Saturday night, the Pats got goals from Chandler Stephenson and Dyson Stevenson just over a minute apart to turn things around and take a 4-3 win from the Everett Silvertips.  Teagan Sacher made 21 saves on 24 shots to pick up his first WHL win.

Roster Moves
Pats reassign defenceman Cole Hamblin to Junior-A

Quote of the Week
“It started with Teagan in net. As it went along, we just weren’t doing those little things we need to do against this team. Their forwards had great speed, we kept turning it over, our D were on their heels. Emil Sylvegard got us going with a great grind shift down low. The guys kind of caught fire. What happened was we started getting the puck deep, then we started challenging them one on one. We got below the goal line and our guys, instead of trying to make a pass or even cycle, we started dragging it to the net. Dyson Stevenson’s goal was a perfect example. Those little things are what helped us turn it around and helped us win.” – Head Coach Pat Conacher on the Pats victory over Everett
