The Week That Was
Tuesday, October 30th – Pats 2 @ Saskatoon 3
The Pats entered the third period down 2-1 in the contest, but Lane Scheidl’s second goal of the contest evened things in the late stages. The Pats couldn’t complete the third period comeback as Shane McColgan scored the winner just 53 seconds after Scheidl’s goal. A late surge from the Pats couldn’t beat Andrey Makarov and the final sat 3-2 Saskatoon.
Friday, November 2nd – Pats 1 @ Calgary 4
The Pats put together a strong effort on the Pink Ice last night, but found themselves down 2-1 entering the final period of play. The Pats pressed late and emptied the net with time winding down, but Brooks Macek pounced for two goals with Hewitt out of the cage to wrap the game up on a 4-1 score.
Saturday, November 3rd – Pats 4 @ Prince Albert 1
The Pats brought their best effort of the week against the then conference leading Raiders. After a slow start in the first that saw the teams tied 1-1, the Pats took over the next forty minutes. Colten Mayor got the Pats a lead heading into the third period. In the final frame, Dyson Stevenson and Jack Rodewald tacked on two more markers in the early going and Regina cruised to the 4-1 victory.
Quote of the Week
“It gives the guys confidence. (The Raiders) are a dangerous hockey club. There’s a reason why they’re the best in the conference right now. We stuck to it. The guys kept it simple. We had some breakdowns but there was someone else to help. It wasn’t a total breakdown where we were running all over. It did happen a couple times but it was a pretty good effort all the way around.” – Head Coach Pat Conacher after the Pats victory over Prince Albert
