The Week That Was
Friday, January 4th – Medicine Hat 2 @ Pats 3 SO
Sixty-five minutes wasn’t enough to find a winner between the Pats and Tigers Friday night. Jack Rodewald and Trent Ouellette scored for the Pats in regulation while Jacob Doty and Elgin Pearce replied for Medicine Hat. Matt Hewitt stopped 24 shots in the game, then all three Tiger shooters in the shootout and Morgan Klimchuk beat Cam Lanigan to give the Pats a 3-2 win.
Saturday, January 5th – Pats 5 @ Prince Albert 2
The Pats fourth line found the scoresheet as Braden Christoffer scored twice in the Pats 5-2 win over Prince Albert. Christoffer opened and closed the Pats scoring on the evening with Dyson Stevenson, Lane Scheidl and Morgan Klimchuk tallying for the Pats as well. Teagan Sacher made 30 saves for his seventh victory of the season.
Sunday, January 6th – Brandon 1 @ Pats 3
Playing their third game in three nights, the Pats looked slow out of the gate and found themselves trailing in the second period. Some timely penalty killing seemed to spark the team, and a late second period powerplay goal from Lane Scheidl sent the game to the third in a one-all draw. In the final period, Colton Jobke scored on a long shot with Patrick D’Amico setting a screen in front and Morgan Klimchuk added an empty netter to seal the Pats 3-1 victory and fifth win in a row.
Quote of the Week
Three in three is never easy, especially with travel. It’s one of those games that wasn’t necessarily a Picasso but at the end of the day two points is all that matters.” – Pats Captain Colton Jobke after his team’s 3-1 win over Brandon
“People are telling us we look like two different teams and that’s a good thing to hear because we’re having success now. We can get those character wins like tonight when we are tired and we played three in three. We’re finding ways and that’s a good thing.” – Pats forward Morgan Klimchuk on the team’s play this weekend
