It was a mid-morning departure from Kennewick, Washington and travel 5 hours through the mountains to the Pats home for the next week, Kent, Washington. Kent is a city on the edge of Seattle and is now the home of the Thunderbirds, which play out of the Sho-Ware Center.
First to our travel day, it was some interesting....and slow travel through the mountains because of a huge snowfall that pounded the area all night and into the morning.
This is what the beginning of the trip looked like.
Here we are, right in the teeth of the snow.
The snow stopped, but this was the resulting coverage throughout the mountain pass.
Even with the snow and poor conditions around them, the players were unphased, with a movie and plenty of cards being played throughout.
Then we arrived in Seattle right in time for lunch, and this was the view from the resteraunt. Not too shabby at all. Tomorrow, another day off, and some fun in and around Kent and Seattle.
