Week in Review
Tuesday, February 9th      Brandon Wheat Kings 6 Regina Pats 2
The Brandon Wheat Kings took it to the blue and white Wednesday night 6-2. Hampus Gustafsson did get the scoring going in the first, but after that it was 5 straight Brandon goals until Myles Bell scored his first ever WHL marker late in the second period for a 5-2 Wheattie lead after 40. The third saw Brandon score once for the 6-2 final. Damien Ketlo started the game but was replaced by Dawson Guhle after giving up the 4th Brandon goal.

Wednesday, February 10th     Calgary Hitmen 6 Regina Pats 2
It was a tough couple of days for the Pats earlier this week with back to back games against the top 2 teams in the Eastern Conference. Tuesday night, the Pats lost on the road 6-2 in Brandon while 24 hours later, the Calgary Hitmen won by the same 6-2 score, this time at the Brand Centre in Regina.

Friday, February 12th      Red Deer Rebels 3 Regina Pats 1
The tough times continued for the Regina Pats on the road, this time in Red Deer. The blue and white played a great game, but ran into a hot goaltender in Darcy Keumper, who stopped 32 of 33 shots for the 3-1 win. Jordan Weal scored the lone goal on the power play while Damien Ketlo stopped 31 of 33 Rebel shots.

Saturday, February 13th     Regina Pats 6 Edmonton Oil Kings 1
The Pats ended a 3 game losing streak with a 6-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings. Matt Strueby scored twice, while Jordan Eberle, Kyle Mulder, Brett Leffler and Jordan Weal all scored singles. Dawson Guhle stopped 20 of 21 Oil King shots for the victory. It’s the Pats first road win since a 5-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos on January 23rd.

Just the Facts:
Kets great at home:
Pats goaltender, Damien Ketlo has had his ups and downs this season, battling back from both a sprained hip flexor and a partially separated shoulder. The one thing the Pats can count on is how good he has been at home. Heading into tonight Ketlo is 12-3-0-4 at the Brandt Centre

Defensive Scoring:
The Pats have three defencemen in the team’s top ten scorers. Colten Teubert leads with 35 points; Brandon Davidson has 31 and Cody Carlson has 30.

First WHL Goals:
Myles Bell scored his first career WHL goal this past week against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Only one other Pat has scored his first career WHL goal this season. Brandon Davidson picked up his first goal back on September 25th against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Jordan Eberle is tied for second in the WHL with 82 points, 1 point back of Craig Cunningham and Brandon Kozun for the league lead. Here are the top 5 scorers in all of the CHL:

Mid-Term Rankings: The NHL CSS mid-term draft rankings were released earlier this week, and the Pats are represented with a pair of players. Jordan Weal is 45 in North American skaters, while Brandon Davidson continues to move up the rankings, he is now 57th. Jordan Weal will play in the CHL Top Prospects game January 19th and 20th in Windsor.

It’s getting down to the wire in the race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pats are 5 points out of the final spot and are battling Moose Jaw, Prince Albert and Swift Current for the last two spots. Here’s what the four teams have remaining.

Around the office:
Sportsman’s Dinner is set for March:
The annual Regina Pats Sportsman’s Dinner is set for March 8th at the Delta Inn. The doors open at 6pm with cocktails, the dinner and ceremonies begin at 7pm. Kevin Lowe will be the guest speaker. Get your tickets by dropping by the Regina Pats office, or call 522-PATS for more information.

Goals for Kids:
With the Pats scoring 11 times this week gives them a season total of 207; the Prairie Mobile Communications “goals for kids” fund is now up to $3105. $15 from every goal scored will be donated to the Ranch Ehrlo Outdoor Hockey League, courtesy of Prairie Mobile Communications.

In the Community:
Western Pizza “Have a Heart” night tonight! Pats players will be delivering Western Pizza to folks across Regina with the delivery fees and tips going to the Regina Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Pats have raised almost 35-thousand dollars over the last few seasons that this great program existence.
Home Depot “Practice with the Pats” day is Wednesday February 17th. A local minor hockey team has already been chosen and will have a practice ran by Assistant Coach Shaun Sutter and members of the Regina Pats on the Brandt Centre ice.

Home Depot “Backyard Rink” will see the Pats split up and take on kids at the 2 Home Depot locations in Regina. On Sunday, February 21st, members of the Pats will be playing shinny hockey at both the East and Northwest locations of Home Depot

“Project 1st Goal” drug awareness program continues this week with a pair of dates. Wednesday, February 17th will see the Pats McClurg and they will visit Lakeview School on Thursday, February 18th.
